The Opportunity
The company suspected that some of its projects were completing below delivery and profitability expectations and corrective actions were occurring too late or not at all, during the project. Most of the senior management complained that "We would have regular status meetings and get a rough idea of where we were but you couldn't really tell if a project was going to meet its targets until after the fact". Uncertainty whether projects are performing as expected, regular status meetings taking longer than needed and not producing precise information. A simple, easy way to obtain precise status information and reduce meeting effort is needed.
Our Approach & Solution
Our Goal was to create a consolidated cost saving & web based Project tracking system that took care of all the challenges faced by the client. Project Tracking System provided FW Employees and Management a way to track hours spent on each project at the task level. This was achieved by allowing managers to define and create tasks for each project, budget hours for each task and specify start and end dates for each task. Employees working on a project were able to log their time spent on various tasks by date using the application interface. For a given period, managers could generate reports that provided a snapshot of the project progress in terms of Actual Hours spent vs. Budgeted Hours, Projected Dates vs. Actual Dates, and Hours spent by each employee on project/task etc. Employees were able to time sheet for any given period of time to submit to management.
